Pet Urgent Care of Wesley Chapel is a 24/7 veterinary facility seeking an Overnight Certified Veterinary Technician to join our ER-focused team. This full-time, hourly role offers USD 20–35 per hour and on-the-job training for triage, anesthesia, radiography, and patient monitoring.

The ideal candidate will be a certified veterinary technician with at least 1 year of professional experience, capable of handling fast-paced cases, and communicating effectively with clients and the care team.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technicians with 1+ year professional experience.
• ER or Urgent Care experience preferred but not required.
• Punctuality and reliability with scheduled shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures and hospital operations.
• Ability to perform safe animal restraint and manage stress.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Lab sample collection and analysis; radiographic imaging.
• Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administration of medications and anesthetic management.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.

Overnight Certified Veterinary Technician

• Compensation: USD 20 - USD 35 - hourly

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• Certified veterinary technicians, 1+ year professional experience required.
• Previous ER or Urgent Care experience is highly preferred, but not required.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
