Job summary

Pet Urgent Care of Wesley Chapel is seeking a certified veterinary technician to join our 24/7 emergency-focused team. The role emphasizes triage, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of professional experience, strong client communication, and proficiency with lab work, radiography, and hospital operations. Daytime hours are available.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technicians with 1+ year of professional experience is required.
• ER or Urgent Care experience is highly preferred.
• Punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Experience with sample collection, radiography, anesthesia, and surgical monitoring.

Serving Wesley Chapel and surrounding communities, including Zephyrhills, Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Dade City, Odessa, and the greater Tampa area, we provide pet ultrasound services for cats, dogs, rabbits, and pocket pets.

While our clinic operates 24/7, this position is scheduled for daytime hours.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technicians, 1+ year professional experience required.
• Previous ER or Urgent Care experience is highly preferred, but not required.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
