Pet Urgent Care of Wesley Chapel is hiring an Overnight Certified Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 team providing compassionate, timely veterinary care in Wesley Chapel, FL. The role requires a certified veterinary technician with at least 1 year of professional experience; ER/urgent care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, anesthesia, medication administration, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Certified veterinary technicians with 1+ year professional experience required.
• ER or Urgent Care experience highly preferred.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.

• Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
• Overnight hours and shift flexibility as part of a 24/7 operation.
• Support ongoing training and professional development for veterinary staff.

• Compensation: USD 20 - USD 35 - hourly

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Certified veterinary technicians, 1+ year professional experience required.
• Previous ER or Urgent Care experience is highly preferred, but not required.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
