Job summary

YMCA of the Triangle is seeking an Overnight Camp Executive Director to lead Camp Kanata, guiding strategic and operational efforts, staff development, and program excellence. This role partners with community leaders to advance the YMCA mission and drive engagement across multiple sites.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of senior nonprofit leadership experience, with strong financial, fundraising, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human services, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years of progressive management experience in nonprofit sector with strategic planning, board/volunteer engagement, fundraising, and multi-site operations.
• Overnight camping program experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drives strategic community engagement with local partners and stakeholders.
• Leads and empowers the Overnight Camp Leadership Team and staff through inclusive decision‑making and development strategies.
• Stewards overnight camp advisory board and aligns initiatives with YMCA goals.
• Champions talent development, onboarding, coaching, and performance growth.
• Ensures collaboration across branches and enterprise programs for design, delivery, and innovation.
• Drives fundraising leadership and oversight of branch philanthropic efforts.
• Oversees financial planning, budgeting, and performance to ensure financial health.
• Supports the development of high-quality, constituent‑driven programs and engagement.
• Directs annual operating planning with data‑informed decisions and measurable outcomes.
• Fosters an innovation culture and member‑centered program delivery.
• Ensures operational excellence in programs and facilities for safe, engaging experiences.
• Stays aligned with YMCA brand standards and acts as a mission‑driven ambassador.
• Participates in enterprise leadership initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Models mission‑driven leadership and professional growth.
