Job summary

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center in Arizona seeks an Overnight Behavioral Health Technician to support adolescents during a 11pm-7am shift, with weekend availability. A $3,000 signing bonus and retention bonus are available.

You will be part of a trauma-informed residential team, monitoring safety, implementing treatment plans, and assisting with daily living activities while promoting skill development and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a thorough background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2+ years in education or human services or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, accountability and security of campus.
• Teach, coach and supervise students in activities of daily living and overnight routines.
• Observe peer culture and progress toward treatment goals.
• Observe individual student behavior over time and recognize progress.
• Communicate effectively in writing and oral form.
• Follow and implement individual treatment plans for all students.
• Recognize escalating behaviors and intervene to ensure safety.

Overnight Youth Care Technician I Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check, and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: Must have 2+ combined years of education or relative experience in Human Services. Maturity, empathy and patience. The ideal candidate must have the ability to adjust to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, accountability and security of campus.
• Teach, coach and supervise students in activities of daily living including morning, bedtime and overnight procedures, hygiene and cleanliness, housekeeping, meals, intramurals, sports, academics, and extracurricular activities both on and off campus.
• Observe the peer culture for patterns of behavior indicating progress or regression in the program.
• Observe individual student behavior over time and recognize progress towards treatment goals.
• Effectively communicate, both written and orally.
• Follow and implement individual treatment plans for all students.
• Recognize escalating behaviors and intervene at the appropriate level to ensure safety and security.
