Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace in Troy, MI is seeking an Assistant Commissary Bakery Manager to oversee overnight bakery operations, including production, quality, and labor goals. This role requires hands-on leadership and strong bakery knowledge to drive efficiency and product quality.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least six months baking experience, and prior management experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Six months baking experience is required.
Previous management experience is required.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to work overnights and weekends (shifts can begin as early as 5pm).
Ability to work in extreme cold, wet, humid or hot conditions.
Ability to stand for 8+ hour periods and multitask.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise all bakery functions and activities to meet production, quality, labor and gross profit goals.
Coordinate bakery workflow and production activities.
Implement new recipes and products.
Develop and train associates; oversee safety and equipment usage.
Manage pricing, dating, restocking and inventory control.
Review supplier invoices and ensure quality standards are met.
Assist with department reports, administration and communications.
Other duties as assigned.
