Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide person-centered care and build meaningful relationships in a residential setting.

You will assist with daily living activities, support community involvement, and document care. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered, with pay progression from $16.00 to $17.50 per hour after six months, for 30+ hours/week roles.

Qualifications

• Genuine heart for helping others and person-centered care.
• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; pass DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities: personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of people served.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Work in a residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people.
• Collaborate with a mission-driven team focused on dignity and inclusion.
