Job description

Overnight Automotive Mechanic (Transportation)

As part of our fleet servicing crew as an Automotive Mechanic, you'll perform a variety of services such as preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles while ensuring compliance and maintaining communication between customers and internal teams.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

1. Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and potential problems
2. Diagnose and repair various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
4. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to analyze vehicle malfunctions and determine repair methods
5. Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and time
6. Collaborate with team members for efficient workflow and timely repairs
7. Test and verify repaired vehicles for proper functioning and customer satisfaction
8. Stay updated with industry advancements, manuals, and service bulletins
9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental regulations

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?

• Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license and the ability to drive
• At least 5 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic with strong vehicle system knowledge
• Familiarity with diagnostic and repair manuals such as ProDemand
• Patient, persistent, and skilled in problem-solving, especially for challenging repairs
• Own basic tools; heavy-duty tools provided as needed
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
• Deep knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance techniques
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• ASE certification(s) (optional but preferred)
