Overnight Automotive Mechanic (Transportation)

Get with Spiffy and go mobile! As part of our fleet servicing crew as an Overnight Automotive Mechanic, you'll travel between locations, performing an array of services such as preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles while ensuring compliance and maintaining communication with customers and internal teams. Must be willing to work in ALL weather conditions. If you prefer a temperature-controlled environment, this job may not be ideal.

Shift: 8pm-5am

What will you be doing?

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and potential problems
• Diagnose and repair various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, and HVAC
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
• Use diagnostic tools to analyze vehicle malfunctions and determine repair methods
• Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and time
• Collaborate with team members for efficient workflow
• Test and verify repaired vehicles for proper functioning and customer satisfaction
• Stay updated with industry advancements and technical manuals
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations

What are the qualifications?

• Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license and the ability to drive
• At least 5 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic with strong vehicle system knowledge
• Familiarity with diagnostic and repair manuals such as ProDemand
• Patient, persistent, with problem-solving skills
• Own basic tools
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and specialized tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

Preferred but not required:

• ASE certification(s)
• Previous experience in a mobile mechanic role

Working conditions:

Exposure to hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, dust, dirt, and exhaust fumes.

Physical demands:

• Stand on hard surfaces for extended periods
• Lift/move items up to 50 pounds
• Work at a rapid pace for long periods
• Push, pull, bend, lift, twist, climb, and grasp as needed
