Job summary

ChristianaCare seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Float Pool/Per Diem Team at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. The role is a full-time overnight leadership position with an 8- to 10-hour shift structure and on-call requirements. Training will begin in daytime hours as needed.

Lead nursing teams across Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Geriatrics, and Heart & Vascular units. The ANM supports the Nurse Manager in administrative directions and delivering high-quality care, advancing the leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Current nursing licensure and approved specialty certification.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing and technical personnel: staffing, scheduling, evaluates performance, counsels staff.
• Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions; demonstrates professional behaviors.
• Directs, mentors, and supports all levels of staff.
• Develops, implements, and monitors performance-improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Identifies and develops strategies to improve knowledge base and staff integrity.
• Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements system-wide improvements.
• Responsible for RNs, Student Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare or Business Management Preferred

Current nursing licensure
