Job summary
Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Float Pool/Per Diem Team. This Full-Time Overnight role supports nursing leadership and staff across Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Geriatrics, and Heart & Vascular services.
The ANM will manage staffing, participate in hiring decisions, mentor staff, and lead performance improvement initiatives with a focus on patient safety. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and relevant leadership experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher is preferred (MSN/Healthcare/Business Management also preferred).
- Three years of clinical and leadership experience preferred.
- Current nursing licensure and approved specialty certification.
- Current BLS required.
Responsibilities
- Supervises all nursing and technical personnel: assesses proficiency and staffing needs.
- Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Directs, mentors, and supports all levels of staff.
- Develops, implements, and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identifies and develops strategies to improve knowledge base and staff integrity.
- Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements system-wide improvements.
- Responsible for RNs, Student Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians.
