Job summary

Denver Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Assessment Specialist-Overnights to provide assessments and therapeutic care for patients seeking treatment for substance use, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric conditions. You will coordinate with clinicians to ensure timely, high-quality care.

The role requires a Master’s in social work or counseling, current licensure, and CPR/CPI certifications within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling and current state licensure.
• Independent licensure highly preferred.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with adults/geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Receives inquiry calls and assists scheduling a face-to-face assessment or triage to referrals.
• Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional.
• Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
• Performs comprehensive assessment and delivers quality therapeutic care for substance abuse or psychiatric needs.
• Coordinate with clinical team/on-call physician to meet needs at the facility or with community providers.
• Interprets treatment to patients and families to reduce fear and improve acceptance.
• Handles admission and precertification paperwork with external payers as needed.
