Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is seeking dynamic individuals for hands-on line work in installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. You will drive line trucks, operate equipment, and assist in setting poles or performing right-of-way tasks.

The role requires readiness to work at heights and travel extensively. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, no prior experience required (line work preferred).

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• No previous work experience required; line work experience or line school education preferred.
• Must be available to work overtime, call-out overtime, and shift work; travel >50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, maintenance, rearrangement, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities.
• Drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment.
• Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in training of other employees.
