Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. seeks a Class B Lineman to construct and repair overhead distribution systems. You will work on energized and de‑energized lines, travel to multiple job sites including out‑of‑state locations, and report to the Foreman.

The role demands extensive climbing, working at heights, and operating bucket trucks and derricks, with a strong emphasis on safety and live‑line procedures.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of overhead line experience.
• Valid CDL.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Know switching and tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized/de-energized lines with proper tools and test equipment.
• Climb structures (wood, steel, concrete) using approved methods and equipment.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, near energized equipment.
• Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers and other overhead line equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storms.
• Available for outages, storms, emergencies and on‑call rotations.
• Perform live‑line work using gloving and hot‑stick techniques and fault locating.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and insulated protective gear to isolate potential differences.
