Job summary

Pike Corporation is hiring a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will work under a Foreman, assisting with building, repairing and sustaining power lines and related infrastructure.

The role requires outdoor work in various weather conditions, physical labor, and willingness to travel and be on-call for outages and emergencies. Training and safety protocols are emphasized on site.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead distribution systems.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understand when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
