Job summary

Citadel Access Solutions in Palm Desert, CA is seeking an Overhead Door Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead doors and related systems. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and able to work independently in the field.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate costs and recommendations to customers while maintaining tools and a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as overhead door/garage door technician preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights.
• Comfortable working indoors/outdoors in varying weather.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair, and maintain overhead doors, including rolling steel doors and dock equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues and determine repair solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections for safe operation.
• Troubleshoot door operators, motors, controls, sensors, and safety devices.
• Replace or adjust springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, and seals.
• Respond to service calls promptly and professionally.
• Complete work orders and service reports accurately.
• Communicate repairs, costs, and maintenance recommendations to customers.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in good condition.
• Participate in on-call rotation as required.
