Job summary

Sumter Utilities, Inc. seeks a C Class Lineman with overhead distribution experience or readiness to grow into a higher role. CDL preferred; CDL holders may have easier progression into the DOL Certified Apprenticeship Program after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Overhead distribution experience required or demonstrated readiness to grow into greater role.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required; CDL required or must obtain within 90 days for employment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on new construction, maintenance, or repair of energized or de-energized conductors under supervision.
• Maintain enrollment in SUI apprenticeship program; meet program entry requirements.
• Capable of setting poles and anchors per safety specs.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Perform related duties to meet organizational needs.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and working at heights or in confined spaces.
