Job summary

Sumter Utilities, Inc. seeks a B Class Lineman to work on Alabama Power systems. The ideal candidate has overhead distribution experience or long-term apprentice exposure and shows readiness to grow into a larger role.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL highly preferred; may need to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing construction, maintenance, or repair on energized and de-energized conductors.
• Capable of setting poles and anchors per safety policies and specs.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Perform other related duties as required to complete the job.
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Learn to read blueprints and understand distribution voltages.
