Job summary

XKIG is seeking an Overhead Equipment Operator in New Bern, NC, to support construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. This full-time, on-site role involves assisting a crew, performing storm restoration when needed, and upholding strict safety and PPE standards.

Responsibilities include operating vehicles and equipment professionally, continuous training, and readiness for outdoor work in variable weather.

Qualifications

• Must have a CDL Permit and the ability to obtain a CDL license within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months experience operating a mini excavator.
• Able to read/write and communicate effectively.
• Able to travel long distances at short notice.
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
• Able to lift an excess 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.

Responsibilities

• Securing the safety of yourself and others.
• Assisting fellow line-workers in meeting project objectives.
• Joining storm restoration efforts as needed.
• Operating vehicles and equipment in a professional manner.
• Continuing training to improve technical and leadership skills.
• Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• Operate a mini excavator safely.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE.
• Follow proper PPE usage.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather.
