Job summary

XKIG is seeking an Onsite Overhead Groundman in North Carolina to support line teams in construction, maintenance, and storm restoration on energized and de-energized systems. You will assist with wiring, pole setting, rigging, and equipment checks, while following all safety rules.

This entry-level role requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, travel, and overtime as needed; a background check and drug screen are required and you must pass I-9/E-Verify processes.

Qualifications

• Must have Valid Driver's License.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift an excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.
• Safety-sensitive role requiring background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist fellow line-workers in meeting project goals.
• Join storm restoration efforts in times of need.
• Follow safety rules and policies for construction or maintenance of energized or de-energized overhead systems.
• Inspect PPE and equipment and wear properly.
• String overhead wire, set poles and anchors.
• Help install transformers, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Maintain and operate company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition.
