Job summary

Thayer Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Distribution Designer to support overhead distribution design and modeling using pole loading software. You will configure pole structures, model conductors and equipment, and ensure compliance with safety codes and client standards.

Experience with pole loading tools such as DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, or SPIDAcalc is required, along with knowledge of NESC and IEEE standards and AutoCAD/GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Design, Utility Design, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in utility distribution design.
• Experience with pole loading analysis software.
• Familiarity with NESC and IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead distribution poles using pole loading software and models.
• Configure pole structures based on standards and field conditions.
• Add and model conductors, equipment, and joint-use attachments.
• Perform clearance and pole loading analysis.
• Prepare construction estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and field crews.
