Job summary
Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC (TPC) seeks a skilled Distribution Designer to support the design and modeling of overhead distribution systems. The role involves configuring pole structures and modeling conductors using pole loading software, ensuring compliance with safety codes and client standards.
You will design with tools like DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, or SPIDAcalc, perform clearance analyses, and collaborate with engineering teams.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in electrical design or utility design.
- 2+ years of experience in utility distribution design.
- Experience with pole loading analysis software and distribution design tools.
- Familiarity with NESC and IEEE standards.
Responsibilities
- Design overhead distribution poles using pole loading software (DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc).
- Configure pole structures based on client standards and field conditions.
- Model conductors, equipment and joint-use attachments.
- Perform clearance and pole loading analysis.
- Prepare construction estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and field crews.
