Job summary

Capco Crane & Hoist, Inc. is seeking a Crane Technician in Rowley, MA to provide quality installation, inspection, maintenance and repair service for hoist and crane equipment. A strong candidate will have 2–5 years’ experience troubleshooting cranes and hoist systems and solid electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment.
• Electrical knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Associate’s degree in Industrial Electrician or Electro-Mechanical Technology preferred.
• Ability to work at height, in extreme temperatures and noisy locations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel locally daily.

Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
• Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
• Support customers by interfacing with customers and internal departments in repairing equipment as needed.
• Perform electrical and /or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers by promptly reviewing and addressing complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), trailers, tools, etc.
