Job summary

Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a Crane Operator/Loader in New Orleans, LA. The role supports shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders, reporting to the Operations Manager, with a 2nd shift from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Overtime may be required.

The job requires operating overhead cranes and forklifts, understanding product specs, and ensuring safe, compliant handling of loads with proper paperwork and procedures. A valid crane certification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in industrial or distribution environments.
• Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required.
• High School diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn new skills and train others.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.

• Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring paperwork is completed.
• Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers.

Job Summary

The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

• 2nd Shift Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., with availability to work overtime as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
• Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices
• Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
• Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations
