Job summary

CMC is seeking a reliable crane operator to support production at our West Virginia facilities. You’ll safely operate overhead cranes, move materials, and assist production crews in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires adherence to safety policies and strong teamwork to meet daily production goals. Ideal candidates have prior crane operation experience, forklift certification, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, rigging and material handling practices.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Willingness to complete overhead crane operator training and certification, if required.
• Ability to work independently and maintain reliable attendance.
• Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around heavy equipment, noise, dust and varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an overhead crane to support production and movement of precast concrete products.
• Perform crane operations related to stripping, setup, loading, material handling.
• Move, stage, and store materials using overhead cranes and other equipment.
• Assist production crews with manufacturing activities and general labor.
• Follow safety policies, lifting procedures, rigging requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Inspect work areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
• Support daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure safe and timely completion of tasks.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Previous experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, rigging, and material handling practices.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Willingness to complete overhead crane operator training and certification, if required.
• Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain reliable attendance.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.

• High School Diploma or GED required
