Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced driver to transport over-dimensional loads and operate a range of equipment including 53’ trailers and overhead cranes.

You will work with pilot cars and crew to ensure safe, on-time deliveries, while adhering to DOT regulations. This full-time role offers weekly pay and opportunities for growth within a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required with chauffer experience.
• Class C/D Driver's License also required.
• Experience with over-dimensional or heavy haul transport.
• Minimum 1+ year operating large platform trailers.
• Knowledge of axle weight distribution and load securement.
• Able to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery.
• Willing to learn hydraulic gantry, hydraulic jacks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to travel for assignment needs.

Responsibilities

• Transport over-dimensional loads including modules and counterweight equipment.
• Operate equipment: 53’ trailers, multi-axle, overhead cranes.
• Handle local hauls, including super loads.
• Collaborate with pilot cars and crew for safe deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Support highway and some off-road hauling.
