Overview
The Outside Services Supervisor oversees the outside services team and ensures exceptional customer service and professionalism for members and guests. The role manages key aspects of golf operations including cart management, bag handling, and practice area setup, while maintaining operational efficiency and club standards. This position also provides training, mentorship, and support to foster a positive work environment and a seamless, high-quality golf experience. Reporting structure: Reports to the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf.
Experience Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or strong knowledge of golf.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Strong knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to work primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, push, pull, twist, bend, and lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
- Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed and availability to work weekends and/or holidays.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise the Outside Services team, including staff recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and training.
- Monitor staff time reporting for accuracy and compliance with club policies.
- Assist golfers with bag loading, club cleaning, play preparation, etiquette guidance, and post-round club transport.
- Oversee cleanliness, organization, and functionality of outside service areas including the golf cart fleet, club storage, and practice facilities.
- Address maintenance needs or equipment issues to ensure readiness.
- Collaborate with range attendants, marshals, and starters to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure outside service areas, including the pro-shop, practice areas, and cart staging zones, are tidy and organized.
- Monitor completion of daily assignments including practice facility preparation, pro-shop stocking, and workspace cleanliness.
- Assist others as needed and complete additional tasks assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Support and enforce policies while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Maintain professionalism in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Promote safe working practices and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications.
- Resolve challenges using available resources and work with regional and corporate teams to support operations.
- Support overall team efficiency and contribute to club goals.
