Overview
The Outside Services Supervisor oversees the outside services team and ensures exceptional customer service and professionalism for members and guests. The role manages key aspects of golf operations, including cart management, bag handling, and practice area setup, while maintaining operational efficiency and club standards. The position also provides training, mentorship, and support to foster a positive work environment and deliver a seamless, high-quality golf experience.
Reports to the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf.
Experience Required
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role or strong knowledge of golf.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Strong knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, push, pull, twist, bend, and lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
- Adherence to attendance requirements and flexibility to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise the Outside Services team, including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and training.
- Monitor staff time reporting for accuracy and compliance with club policies.
- Assist golfers with bag loading, club cleaning, play preparation, etiquette guidance, and post-round support.
- Oversee cleanliness, organization, and functionality of outside service areas including the golf cart fleet, club storage, and practice facilities.
- Address maintenance needs or equipment issues to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with golf operations staff such as range attendants, marshals, and starters to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure outside service areas, the pro-shop, practice areas, and cart staging zones are tidy and organized.
- Monitor timely completion of daily assignments including practice facility preparation, pro-shop stocking, and workspace organization.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks assigned by management.
- Follow all company, club, and department policies and procedures.
- Support and enforce policies while maintaining high standards of ethics and integrity.
- Promote safe working practices and support the club's operational goals through teamwork.
