Black Box Safety, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to open and grow sworn law-enforcement accounts across Southern California. You will spend about four days in the field, visiting stations, armories, training facilities, and academies, while building a territory plan and managing quotes.

The role emphasizes new-account acquisition, contract-vehicle alignment on quotes, and CRM-documented progress, with OTE potential based on uncapped commissions.

Black Box Safety is a veteran-owned California distributor of tactical gear, PPE, and safety equipment for law enforcement and public agencies. The job

You will open and grow sworn law-enforcement accounts across Southern California and keep them buying after the first PO. About four days a week are spent in the field at stations, armories, training facilities, and academies.

• You live in Los Angeles or Orange County.


• Territory: Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino, Kern, Imperial, and Santa Barbara Counties.


• This is a hunting role with a thin inherited book. Several of the largest departments on this map have never bought from us regularly.


• NPPGov PS25650 is your primary contract vehicle. Body armor LPA 1-23-84-07 and Sourcewell 091924-BBS open doors; our armor specialists handle fittings and armor-contract lines.


• There is no lead queue. We measure new accounts that reorder, not activity.

What you will do

This seat does not cover California state agencies, CSU or UC (including campus police), public works, facilities, or utilities, or federal signature. An industrial-supplies counterpart owns the non-sworn buyers.

What you bring

Required

• Three or more years of outside B2B sales on a territory you ran yourself.


• A record of opening new accounts that bought again.


• Comfort presenting product to a group.


• Four days a week with customers, with occasional overnights in Southern California.


• Valid California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and a reliable vehicle.


• Everyday use of a CRM, email, Excel, and Teams.


• Ability to lift about 50 pounds of demo gear and pass a background check for law-enforcement and correctional facilities.

Preferred

• Sales into law enforcement, corrections, fire, military, or public safety.


• Prior sworn, corrections, or military service.


• Working knowledge of duty gear, tactical equipment, or NIJ standards.


• Existing relationships in Southern California public safety.

Compensation and benefits

• Base $70,000 to $90,000, depending on experience and relationships.
