Our client is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and grow relationships with customers. They will own the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with key customers in a defined Distribution Center market, covering Long Island, NYC, and Connecticut. The role requires working independently and being self-directed while still operating as part of an integrated local sales team focused on delivering value to customers and achieving sales and margin growth expectations. The representative will apply their experience to drive growth in scale (i.e., customer base, broader market coverage) and ensure superior value is delivered to customers in support of primary demand efforts. Responsibilities include promoting and selling Distribution's full range of products, including engineered wood, commodities, and specialty building products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish, cultivate, and protect the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with key customers, typically those greater in size and complexity.
  • Drive development and execution of customer strategies in support of delivering superior value to customers and growing wallet-share and profitability.
  • Use extensive market knowledge, relationships, and established expertise to seek out opportunities with new and existing customers for Distribution's full range of products.
  • Gather market intelligence and translate it into valuable input to drive decisions around product mix, pricing, inventory levels, and demand outlook.
  • Develop and execute marketing and communication plans with customers, including promotions, specials, market pull-through activities, and updates to products/pricing/service.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Candidate must reside in Louisiana.
  • Proven success managing large and complex accounts, including building and maintaining executive relationships, developing programs and promotions, and negotiating solutions to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills (authentic, adaptive, persuasive).
  • Ability to analyze the customer's business and develop solutions leveraging Distribution products and services.
  • Successfully collaborate within a team environment and reach across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Broad level of experience with building materials products and strong knowledge of Distribution Center's products, their selling features/benefits, and the competitive products around them.
  • Working knowledge of factors influencing profitability.
  • Understanding and articulation of financial drivers of retail, wholesale, and construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with 3+ years in building materials distribution outside sales.

Must be able to work for a US-based company without requiring visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Base salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
