Job summary

McElroy Metal has an opening for an Outside Sales Representative to service Sales Region 545, covering Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. This role builds relationships with existing and prospective customers, expands the customer base, and maximizes sales across the product line. Prior sales experience in the construction industry is required; metal components experience is a plus.

Reports to the Regional Sales Manager. Hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Strong basic math skills and excellent interpersonal/communication abilities.
• Residence within the assigned territory is required.
• Two years’ experience in the metal components or building industry, or related construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service current customers through calls and correspondence.
• Identify and call on potential customers in the assigned territory.
• Establish pricing within guidelines and quote materials to customers.
• Resolve damaged material claims and other customer issues.
• Communicate effectively between customers, manufacturing, and customer service.
• Learn customers, competitors, and market trends to grow the business.
• Educate customers about our materials and assist with product applications.
• Provide trainings and presentations to architects, designers, and customers.
• Keep HubSpot CRM updated with contacts and deals.
• Support growth efforts of Service Center 18.

Summary

McElroy Metal has an opening for an Outside Sales Representative to service Sales Region 545, covering Eastern Ohio and Wester Pennsylvania . This position builds relationships with existing and prospect. This position builds relationships with existing and prospective customers, solidifies and expands the customer base, and maximizes sales across the entire product line. This sales position requires sales experience in the construction industry. Metal Components experience a Plus. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager.

Hours

8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F

Responsibilities

• Maintains and services current customers through personal calls, phone calls, and correspondence.
• Identifies, locates, and calls on potential customers in assigned territory.
• Establishes pricing for territory within given guidelines and quotes materials to customers.
• Helps resolve damaged material claims and other customer problems.
• Effectively communicates between customers, manufacturing, and customer service at McElroy.
• Learns all customers, competitors, and trends in the marketplace.
• Assists customers with field problems, new product applications and educates customers concerning our materials.
• Gives training sessions and presentations to architects, designers, and other customers to demonstrate McElroy products.
• Works daily in HubSpot and keeps contacts and deals up to date.
• Collaborates on and supports growth efforts of Service Center 18.

Experience/Skills

• Strong basic math skills.

• Two years’ experience in the metal components or building industry. Or related construction experience.

Other Requirements

• Current Driver’s License. (A motor vehicle report (MVR) will be run to assure the successful candidate can service the assigned territory.)
