Outside Sales Representative
CBX Solutions is the nation’s leading provider of architectural doors, frames, hardware, specialty products, and complete security integration services. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers while identifying new opportunities in the Doors, Frames, and Hardware (DFH) industry.
Essential Functions
- Visit customers regularly to monitor job progress and capture new work leads.
- Work with the General Manager to cultivate new customer relationships in the market.
- Secure construction plans and specifications for upcoming work so projects can be taken off and bid.
- Participate in take‑off and specification interpretation to maximize bid potential.
- Review all bids for accuracy, submit bids on time, and ensure they meet company requirements for terms and conditions.
- Follow up on bid results and negotiate to secure jobs when necessary.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and assist estimating in obtaining competitive vendor bids.
- Attend project meetings with the project manager as required.
- Communicate regularly with vendors to discuss service issues, product updates, and educational opportunities.
- Participate in continuing education for door and hardware products and building code requirements.
- Identify and solve problems related to customers or internal issues involving the Contract Salesperson’s work.
- Assist the Credit Department with collection issues when requested.
- Participate in regular sales meetings to assess market opportunities, report on potential jobs, and determine assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current and valid U.S. driver’s license and 21+ years old to drive for the company.
- At least 5 years of experience in a construction‑related environment, preferably in the DFH industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Good math aptitude.
- Some familiarity with industry‑specific software (e.g., Comsense) preferred.
- Ability to travel, mainly local and regional.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of commercial door and hardware products and building code requirements.
