Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to build solid customer relationships, generate new business for the plant, and support Inside Sales. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.

The role involves calling on potential and existing customers, overcoming objections, identifying new opportunities, and preparing quotes and sales orders. It requires travel to customer events and active participation in sales activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 1–2 years in the treated lumber industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Calls on potential and existing customers to qualify leads and sell products.
• Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
• Identifies and reports new sales opportunities regarding new customers or product lines.
• Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery based on production and delivery schedules.
• Participates in weekly sales department meetings and keeps customer records up to date.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems and claims.
• Travels to and attends customer functions and special events.
• Assists in training sales and other positions as requested by management.
