Job summary

Carter Lumber in Bluffton, IN is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to grow millwork and building-material sales with builders and subcontractors. You will present and sell product lines, manage projects from sale through delivery, and nurture customer relationships on site and remotely as needed.

The role emphasizes cold calling, blueprint reading, take-offs, and accurate estimates. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a valid driver’s license

Outside Sales Reps areresponsible for finding and completing sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with builders and subcontractors both residentially and commercially.Yes, you will “sell projects,” but once a job is sold, you need to manage that jobandthat relationship. You’ll keep up to date information on your customers’ product use and trends, visit job sites as needed, maintain schedules, and put out fires. A Carter Outside Sales Millwork Specialist is responsible for presenting and selling all product lines with a focus on millwork products, as well as establishing and growing relationships with customers in our market.

Requirements :

• A Minimum of 2 years previous knowledge and experience selling Millwork products including interior trim, interior doors, and interior hardware. Experience in other building materials helpful
• Ability to cold call future customers and to grow relationships with existing customers
• Ability to read blueprints and do take-offs
• Ability to go to job sites to measure doors and trim
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service
• Decision making abilities and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
