Job summary

Astound is seeking a Broadband Network Technician I to perform field-based maintenance and repair of aerial and underground coax and fiber infrastructure in Massachusetts.

You will detect and resolve outages, participate in a 24/7 on-call, perform splicing, testing, and documentation, and operate bucket trucks and other field equipment.

This hands-on role requires 2+ years telecom experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read maps; bucket certified and Ohm's knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on telecom field work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret maps.
• Bucket Certification; Ohm's (Electrical) familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages for data, video, and telephone.
• Emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, and maintenance of power supply.
• Maintain documentation such as work orders and daily logs.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Install, replace, and repair coaxial and fiber cabling (aerial and buried).
• Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and field equipment.
