Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to lead application engineering for telecom outside plant in a local serving exchange. You’ll specialize in cable sizing, counts, records and ROW/easement permitting to support network growth and upgrades.

Collaborating with Network Planning, Central Office, Transmission and Operations, you’ll plan projects, manage construction, and coordinate with utilities while ensuring accurate records and timely permits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum three years of outside plant experience.
• Experience with ROW, easements and permitting processes.
• Knowledge of outside plant design, cable counts and capacity planning.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Design outside plant projects locally and support Ziply Build initiatives.
• Coordinate with utilities for joint trench and preconstruction meetings.
• Manage construction activities and project planning across teams.
• Apply for and maintain ROW permits and keep cable records updated.
• Prepare cost estimates and support sales, operations and regulatory as needed.
