Job summary

Sonstegard Farms in Sheldon, IA is seeking an Outside Maintenance / Groundskeeper. You will perform maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment, including movement of birds and litter removal, under supervision.

The role requires driving and equipment operation with safety in mind. The position offers performance reviews, paid holidays and 80 hours of PTO, plus benefits (medical, dental, vision, life) and a 401(k) with generous 4% company match.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Experience with skid loaders and payloaders.
• CDL a plus.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment under supervision.
• Basic preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Move live birds and spent hens as required.
• Haul manure and remove manure from barns.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and follow policies.

Outside Maintenance / Groundskeeper

Starting pay based on experience and qualifications, plus:

This position will directly report to the Farm Manager and work with all Management and Production Team. Primarily responsible for performing minor building, grounds maintenance, bird movement, litter removal and vehicle maintenance as necessary. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, SQF regulations and local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform an extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment under general supervision.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Movement of live birds and spent hens.
• Haul manure.
• Manure removal from barns.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
