Job summary

Sonstegard Farms in Sheldon, IA is seeking an Outside Maintenance / Groundskeeper. You will be responsible for facilities, grounds, and equipment maintenance, movement of live birds, litter removal, and vehicle maintenance under the Farm Manager's supervision.

Responsibilities include basic preventative maintenance, safe operation of equipment, and adherence to SQF, local, state, and federal policies. Valid driver's license is required; CDL is a plus; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience operating skid loaders and payloaders; CDL a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform an extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment under general supervision.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Movement of live birds and spent hens.
• Haul manure.
• Manure removal from barns.
• Ensure safe use of equipment.
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested.

This position will directly report to the Farm Manager and work with all Management and Production Team. Primarily responsible for performing minor building, grounds maintenance, bird movement, litter removal and vehicle maintenance as necessary. Responsible for compliance with all company policies, SQF regulations and local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.
