Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII, in Pascagoula, MS, is seeking an Inside Machinist to operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders to produce precision ship components.

You will read blueprints, machine threads and tapered shafts, maintain tooling, and support production in a 24/7 environment. 3–5 years related experience required; relocation not offered; US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years current related experience
• Hands-on experience operating lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders (preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints and machine to exact specifications

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders to machine precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate measurements, tolerances, and final specifications.
• Machine threads, tapered shafts, and other critical ship components.
• Maintain machining tools and equipment in safe, optimal operating condition.
• Work in various shipyard environments and support production requirements.
• Must be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
