Job summary

Hutco, Inc. is seeking an experienced Outside Machinist in Moss Point, MS. You will install, align, and repair ship machinery from blueprints, using hand tools and precision instruments. Emphasis on accurate layouts for shafting, steam lines, and related systems.

Applicants must have at least 4 years of shipyard experience as an outside machinist and be able to pass drug screening and background checks. Hutco offers a limited benefits plan to employees.

• Prior shipyard 4+ years of shipyard experience as an outside machinist.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.

• Install, align, and repair ship machinery from blueprints using hand tools, calipers, and micrometers.
• Align reduction gears, bearings, shafting, propellers, and rudder/steering engine assemblies.

Rate of Pay: $40.00 per hour and $147.00 per-diem for those who qualify

Description:

Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers, and micrometers, lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines. Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 or more years experience as an outside machinist.
• Prior shipyard 4 years or more of shipyard experience as an outside machinist
• Must be able to pass drug screen (HFT) and background check.
