Job description

Join to apply for the Outreach Specialist (Part-Time) role at OncoveryCare

OncoveryCare is an early‑stage virtual healthcare company committed to fundamentally rethinking and transforming the landscape of physical and mental healthcare for cancer survivors. Our team is composed of cancer survivors, clinicians, and experts in cutting‑edge healthcare delivery. We believe that world‑class care after a cancer diagnosis shouldn’t end when treatment is over, and we provide an innovative, evidence‑based approach to deliver patient‑centered, whole‑person support for survivors throughout the cancer journey.

Our vision is a world where living beyond cancer isn’t just “surviving” — it’s thriving.

A few tidbits about cancer survivorship:
  • There are over 18 million cancer survivors in the United States today — and that number is expected to grow to 26 million by 2040.
  • Cancer survivors experience a range of physical and mental health side effects from treatment.
  • Survivorship starts at the moment of diagnosis and continues post‑treatment — we are starting in the “transitions of care” phase post‑treatment, when there is often not a specialized team to take over caring for the survivor moving forward.
  • By survivors, for survivors: We build the survivor voice and experience into all that we do.
  • Clinical integrity and rigor: We prioritize evidence‑based approaches and an integrated team to deliver the highest‑quality care.
  • Trauma‑informed care: We “meet survivors where they are” and respect their lived experience.
  • Changing the status quo: We are committed to radically reinventing how cancer survivorship care is designed, delivered, and experienced.
  • Transparency & inclusivity: Building a new frontier of cancer care is both hard and rewarding—everyone has a role to play, and fostering a positive and open team culture is our priority.
About the Role:

As the Outreach Specialist (Part‑Time), you will be the first point of connection for survivors beginning their care journey with OncoveryCare. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll reach out to eligible patients, engage them in meaningful conversations around their needs, and guide them toward their first appointment with warmth, empathy, and attentiveness. You’ll play a key role in shaping each survivor’s first impression of our care model through trust‑building interactions, while also providing thoughtful administrative support to ensure a seamless onboarding experience. The ideal candidate is approachable, compassionate, and proactive, with a deep commitment to making survivor‑centered care accessible and supportive from day one. This is a part‑time role with the opportunity to transition to full‑time.

What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct outreach: Make outbound calls to eligible cancer survivors to introduce OncoveryCare and support them in scheduling care.
  • Prepare patients for visits: Ensure patients have the information and tech support needed to access their first appointment.
  • Manage patient communication: Send appointment confirmations and follow‑up emails when patients can’t be reached by phone.
  • Coordinate with the team: Work closely with the care team to troubleshoot issues and ensure a smooth experience for every patient.
  • Share materials: Send welcome packets and educational materials to patients.
  • Track engagement: Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and scheduled appointments.
  • Improve workflows: Share feedback on outreach trends and patient conversations, and suggest workflow improvements based on those insights.
  • Support admin: Handle administrative tasks that keep our onboarding process running efficiently.
How You’ll Thrive:
  • Within the first 90 days, you’ll get fully onboarded to our outreach model and tools, begin conducting outreach to eligible cancer survivors, and support appointment scheduling and onboarding workflows. You'll gain familiarity with our team, systems, and patient population.
  • Within the first year, you’ll take ownership of outreach and onboarding responsibilities, consistently contribute to team discussions, and provide valuable insights from patient interactions to help improve workflows and the overall onboarding experience.
  • Long‑term growth opportunity: You’ll have the opportunity to evolve within a fast‑paced startup and take on increasing responsibility in outreach, care coordination, or operations — playing a key role in shaping the way we engage and support survivors.
What You Will Need:
  • 2‑3 years of experience in a patient‑facing, customer service, sales, or care coordination role.
  • A warm, professional, and empathetic phone presence.
  • Comfort with cold‑calling, high‑volume outreach, and engaging patients who may not be expecting your call.
  • Sensitivity and compassion when discussing cancer and working with survivors.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self‑motivated and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment with minimal oversight.
  • Tech‑savviness and ease with tools such as EHRs, CRMs, spreadsheets, and patient communication platforms.
  • Availability for part‑time work (≈20 hours per week), with some scheduling flexibility.

We know that diversity makes for the best problem‑solving and creative thinking, and are committed to equity and inclusion. We are dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and encourage everyone to apply if your experience is close to what we are looking for.
