About the Role

Outreach Specialist – On Call role located at 3119 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia, PA, 19104. Pay rate is $21.63 per hour. Shifts include Monday & Friday 2:00 pm–10:00 pm, Tuesday–Thursday 4:00 pm–12:00 am, and during Code Blue & Code Red on weekdays and weekends. Responsibilities

• Use personal experiences to develop meaningful relationships with participants experiencing homelessness or economic insecurity with behavioral health needs.
• Assist participants in identifying and accessing community resources to build natural supports that increase community success.
• Connect participants to short-term housing such as shelters, cafés or safe havens, and provide transportation when required.
• Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention services as needed.
• Maintain compliance with MHP policies and procedures, reporting any violations to management, the Director of Quality Improvement & Compliance, or Human Resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to fulfill MHP’s mission.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health conditions, and/or substance misuse.
• Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a multi-passenger van, including at night.
• Basic computer skills for desktop computing, e‑mail, time sheet management, electronic health records, and internet research.
• Ability to enter data on a mobile handheld device while in the field.
• Capacity to work with a partner and complete assignments within given instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Physical Demands

• Sit at a desk with ergonomic equipment.
• Lift up to 15 lbs.
• Perform essential job functions while meeting productivity standards safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent speaking and listening in potentially loud or hostile environments.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Remain awake throughout the shift, including break times.
• Drive a multi-passenger van, physically support passengers, and assist disabled individuals during emergencies.
• Travel within the community, including in inclement weather and on public transportation, as required.
• Carry computer equipment and navigate stairs with equipment.
