Job summary

Auburn University is seeking an Outreach Programs Administrator I/II/III (Events and Planning) to plan, coordinate, deliver, and manage outreach services and events for the Alabama Transportation Assistance Program. Responsibilities

  • Develops and coordinates outreach programs for targeted groups; assesses program needs; organizes program material; evaluates program success.
  • Meets with clientele to define needs or problem areas.
  • Assists in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to target audience.
  • Organizes events, workshops, and conferences related to the program from concept to closeout, including planning, participant registration, day‑of event delivery, final invoice review and payment, and event debrief reporting.
  • Research and establish collaborative relationships with relevant agencies and reporting/accrediting bodies to ensure compliance with federal and state licensure requirements.
  • Develops and maintains database and/or website related to specific activity, project or service.
  • Acts as project manager in planning and coordinating activities to support a specific program.
  • Maintains financial records by setting budgets, tracking expenses, reviewing invoices, performing purchasing card reconciliation, managing travel voucher/reimbursement, etc.
  • Performs office administrative duties as needed to support the program.
  • May research, prepare, and/or write grants, applications and fundraising proposals to sources at local, state and national levels.

Overview

This is a one-year limited-term position. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Alabama Transportation Assistance Program is seeking candidates for the position of Outreach Programs Administrator I/II/III (Events and Planning). The individual in this position will plan, coordinate, deliver and manage outreach or extension educational services and programs, such as professional events, workshops, and conferences, to accomplish outreach goals and objectives including communication, education, research, community assistance and quality management. The individual will also perform general office administrative duties interacting with sponsors and stakeholders; maintaining accurate budgets, financial records, and cost accounting; and conducting purchasing and travel reimbursement reconciliation.

Qualifications

Level I:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Level III:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years’ experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.

Level III:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years’ experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Higher Education. Marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.
  • Experience with Technical Outreach, Education, and Training and Transportation Engineering Related Background.
  • Experience with planning and managing events.
