Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for newborns to adults, ensuring patient safety through correct identification, labeling, and timely processing. Enter, release and verify test requests in the system, and assist with inventory and equipment.

This full-time on-site role runs 4am–12:30pm, every 4th weekend, with rotating on-call and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• No experience required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure safety.
• Independently performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborns to adults.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
• Enters and verifies test requests in the computer system as needed.
• Assists with inventory and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Instructs staff in phlebotomy, data entry and specimen processing.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care and communicates effectively.
