Job summary

Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain blood samples from inpatients and outpatients and assist with patient registration in the hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and prior phlebotomy experience. Certification or eligibility with the National Phlebotomy Association is preferred, and a valid driver's license is required. Work involves interacting with hospital staff and ensuring specimen accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy: properly identify patients and label specimens according to policy.
• Accessioning and receiving specimens into the laboratory.
• Provide excellent customer service with AIDET principles.
• Interact professionally with all hospital staff.
• Review vouchers and registrations for accuracy and correct them as needed.
• Investigate and document problems with unacceptable specimens and order tests in hospital/lab systems.
• Comply with universal precautions and safety policies.
• Maintain cleanliness of courier vehicle if applicable.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in phlebotomy.
