Job summary

Berkshire Family And Individual Resources seeks staff to support individuals with developmental disabilities in the community and with their families. You will guide and train clients to live independently and ensure safe, healthy environments with access to medical and social supports.

The role requires a valid US driver’s license, background checks, and the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly. Starting pay is hourly with service delivery in Pittsfield, MA.

Qualifications

• Min of 18 years of age.
• HS Diploma/GED or one year experience in a related field, must possess basic math (addition/subtraction) skills, ability to read & write, communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement.
• Background checks including CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Provide a variety of supports and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in the community and to their family members. Provide guidance and training in developing skills needed to live independently. Ensure that people supported reside in a safe and healthy environment with proper access to medical and social support.

Qualifications

• Min of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED or one year experience in a related field, must possess basic math (addition/subtraction) skills, ability to read & write, communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement.
• Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks (i.e. nursing).
• Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.

Training Requirements

• Must maintain all certification needed in the program including: CPR, First Aid, Safe Techniques to Avoid Restraint and Training (START), Medication Administration (MAP) and BFAIR Human Rights Training.
• May need to attend workshops, seminars or BFAIR functions as needed for job development.
