Job summary

The University of Central Missouri is seeking an Outreach Coordinator for a temporary role in Warrensburg, MO. The position focuses on promoting the Greater Kansas City Writing Project and supporting noncredit and credit offerings.

The role involves program promotions, website updates, course registrations, and coordination of off-campus outreach and entrepreneurial programming. Prior experience in higher education and with Banner or Slate is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Some college hours required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of two years work experience, preferably in higher education.
  • One year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Candidate experience with Banner or Slate is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greater KC Writing Project Support (Approximately 20 hours) - 65%
  • Work with the Director on program promotions and website updates
  • Assist with course registrations for the Writing Projects Summer Institute
  • Fiscal and Operations Support for stipends, invoices, supplies, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Outreach (Approximately 10 hours) - 35%
  • Assist outreach efforts and coordination of off-campus programming
  • Assist with course creation and enrollment - for credit, noncredit, and micro credentials
  • Assist with website updates

Outreach Coordinator - Temporary
Description

The University of Central Missouris graduate certificate in Teaching Writing is a joint program with the Greater Kansas City Writing Project. Graduate students gain the knowledge, skills and support they need to become more effective, confident teachers of writing in all subject areas and grade levels.

Examples of Duties

Greater KC Writing Project Support (Approximately 20 hours) - 65%

Working closely with the Director of the Greater Kansas City Writing Project on program promotions and website updates

Assist with course registrations for the Writing Projects Summer Institute

Fiscal and Operations Support - Working closely with the Manager of Business and Fiscal Operations for OES, assist with GKCWP stipends, invoices, supplies, etc.

Other duties as assigned

Outreach (Approximately 10 hours) - 35%

Working closely with the Director of Extended Studies to assist outreach efforts and coordination of off-campus and entrepreneurial programming.

Assist with course creation and enrollment - for credit, noncredit, and micro credentials

Assist with website updates

Assist with Slate development for noncredit, adult learners, and special credit students

Typical Qualifications

Education

Supplemental Information

Tis is a temporary employment position. Temporary employees are employees who are hired to work at the university for a specified period of time, typically 90 days or less but no longer than six months. Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits. Temporary employees will report hours worked on a timesheet in UKG. Temporary employees can not work more than 30 hours per week.

Full-time staff & 12-month faculty benefits-eligible position: Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes atUCM.

Temporary, adjunct, student employment, or graduate assistant positions: Benefits are not included.
