Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Wound Care RN (WOC/Ostomy/Continence) for our outpatient wound care clinic. The role focuses on assessing and treating skin breakdown and wounds in a clinic setting, with hospital consults as needed.

You will manage wound therapies, educate patients and families, participate in hyperbaric therapy referrals, and collaborate with community resources. Sign-on bonus available; Monday–Friday days, 8:00am to 4:30pm, no weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid RN license.
• BCLS (AHA) certification on hire.
• Wound care knowledge or experience preferred (1 year).
• Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• Wound/Ostomy/Continence board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate treatments.
• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds with proper techniques.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric care.
• Educate patients and families about wound care and ostomy management.
• Track progress, modify care plans, ensure follow-up and post-discharge support.
• Implement infection control measures and educate staff on wound care protocols.
• Stay updated on wound care techniques and participate in continuing education.
• Coordinate with community resources for continuity of care.
• Hyperbaric therapy is provided to appropriate patients (RN training provided).

We are seekingaWound CareRN,which is also referred toas aWoundCare,Ostomy, orContinenceNurse(WOC) at our Wound Care Clinic.

TheWound Care RNwill specialize in assessing and treating skin breakdown and woundsin a clinic setting.AsaWound CareNurse,you will also be consulted during a patients stay in a hospital for a woundor pressure injury, we are also consulted for ostomy care.TheWound Care RNwill also be responsible for determining the proper course of treatmentand interacting with services in the community to continually care for the wound care patient.

** If you have experience in Wound Care, ICU, ER, Critical Care, Telemetry or Advanced Med Surg you are encouraged to apply! **

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments

• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection

• Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment

• Educate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach proper care for ostomies and how to manage continence issues

• Regularly track the progress of wound healing,modifycare plans as needed, ensure follow-upcare,and support post-discharge, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomies

• Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital, educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies when needed

• Stay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research;participatein continuing education and professional development activities

• Interact with community resourcesto ensure continuity of care

• Clinic nurses provide hyperbaric therapytoappropriate patients(RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided)

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.

• BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

• Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).

Additional Qualifications That AreaPlus:

• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.

• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.
