Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Assess, diagnose, and provide clinical services for individuals with behavioral health disorders.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions in the delivery of services to individuals and families to treat diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
2. Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
3. Conduct individual, group, or family therapy sessions as appropriate for the patient's treatment plan.
4. Provide initial treatment planning based on assessments and coordinate additional services as needed, revising plans accordingly.
5. Maintain documentation of therapy services according to facility and professional standards, updating as necessary.
6. Manage an assigned caseload.
7. Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate patient services as per treatment plans.
8. Provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings.
9. Perform case management, discharge, or aftercare planning as needed.
10. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients, addressing and resolving complaints when patient needs are unmet. Prioritize patient safety at all times.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Human Services required.
• At least one year of experience working with a comparable patient population required.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Requisite state or national licensure for professional therapy providers or eligibility for licensure.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility policies.
