Health Management Systems of America seeks a compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our Outpatient Clinic team in Warren, MI. The role focuses on individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders, conducting assessments, and creating treatment plans to help clients achieve stability and well-being.

You will work with a skilled clinical team, provide counseling, coordinate care, and engage with community partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related behavioral/mental-health field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in the field.
• Current State of Michigan LLMSW or LLPC license.
• Motivational Interviewing (MI) training.
• Experience with trauma-informed care approaches.
• Experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
• MCBAP CADC/CAADC certification or Development Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling to clients with severe mental illness and substance-use concerns.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and formulate diagnoses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with clients and team.
• Complete progress notes and treatment-plan updates timely.
• Manage an assigned caseload and meet service requirements.
• Coordinate care with clinical team and referrals.
• Collaborate with community providers and courts for referrals.
• Participate in supervision, meetings, and ongoing training.
• Provide consultation and educational services where requested.
• Support program development and management initiatives.

Health Management Systems of America (HMSA)seeks a compassionate, skilled Clinical Therapist to join our Outpatient Clinic team.

This is an opportunity to provide meaningful behavioral-health services to individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders while working collaboratively with an experienced clinical team and community partners.

The Clinical Therapist maintains responsibility for the ongoing treatment of adults and/or children experiencing severe and persistent mental illness and substance-use concerns. In this role, you will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide counseling services, coordinate care, and help clients navigate their path toward stability and improved well-being.

What You’ll Do

• Provide individual counseling services to clients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness and substance-use concerns.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and formulate diagnoses within your scope of practice.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other appropriate individuals.
• Complete progress notes, treatment-plan updates, transition plans, discharge plans, and other required clinical documentation accurately and timely.
• Effectively manage an assigned caseload while meeting contractual and service requirements.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate care and facilitate appropriate internal and external referrals.
• Coordinate services with community providers, courts, social-service agencies, and other community partners.
• Participate in peer consultation, staff meetings, continuing education, and clinical supervision, as applicable.
• Provide consultation and educational services to individuals and community groups as requested.
• Participate in program development and other responsibilities assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related behavioral or mental-health field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two years of experience in the field.
• Current State of Michigan LLMSW or LLPC license.
• Motivational Interviewing (MI) training.
• Experience utilizing trauma-informed care approaches.
• Experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
• MCBAP CADC/CAADC certification or Development Plan.

Preferred Qualifications

• State of Michigan LMSW or LPC license.
• Three years of experience working with the substance-use-disorder population.
• Two years of experience working with the criminal-justice system.
• MCBAP CADC/CAADC certification.
• Experience working with children.
